2020 has given us all a new view of the world. We’ve faced countless challenges and collectively, we have taken swift action to adapt to the ‘new normal‘ in an effort to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19. The global health crisis has impacted every aspect of life and every industry has been affected in some way.
What has 2020 looked like at MyHEAT?
- Launch of SOLAR Maps: This year, we continued our partnership with Google to launch a new SOLAR Maps platform – an interactive tool leveraging Project Sunroof data to give building owners across the world the ability to see their solar potential.
The first city launched in June, with the City of Edmonton offering an engaging experience for residents that shows financial and environmental benefits and provides easy access to local incentive programs.
- HEAT Maps with new utility partners: This year we also continued to expand our HEAT Maps platform to utility partners throughout North America. We are supporting our latest partners as they launch the following new projects.
- Saint John Energy, with federal funding from Natural Resources Canada, will be providing personalized heat loss details to homeowners in New Brunswick starting in September.
- National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation will bring the innovative solution to residential customers in New York state as part of a pilot launching this fall.
Through both privately-offered platforms, users will be able to visualize and compare areas of heat loss in their home and then easily connect with local rebate programs and other resources to help them save money and energy.
- Helping achieve environmental goals: Our new partnership with ClimateActionWR will enhance Waterloo Region’s efforts to mitigate climate change as they aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2050. The platform, which launches this fall, will connect building owners in the pilot area with rebate information and resources to reduce their carbon footprint.
- Expanding the team: MyHEAT transitioned to a work-from-home setup this spring, but it didn’t stop us from adding a few new faces.
In March we added Nikki Rogers to our team. Nikki is a Data Scientist who has been using her experience with geospatial data, statistics, and software development to support the creation of our innovative products.
Earlier this month, we also welcomed Evan Saltman to the team. Evan is a Web Developer who has been getting acquainted with how our interactive products are built and will be helping us enhance and streamline the end-user experience.
As 2020 quickly progresses and we head into the fall, we are more inspired and motivated than ever. As a team, we aim to encourage energy consumers to make local changes for a better global future and our amazing partnerships are the driving force behind that mission.
As we navigate these uncharted waters, MyHEAT is proud to support the energy goals of our customers. Working with partners who are pushing forward with initiatives to make the world a better place is the key motivator for the entire MyHEAT team. Our contactless engagement solutions are being used by utilities, cities, and governments to supercharge economic recovery and achieve emissions reduction goals.
